In January 2016, we became a No More Homeless Pets Network Partner!
The No More Homeless Pets® Network is a program of Best Friends Animal Society focused on building relationships and working with other rescue organizations and municipal shelters to end the killing of dogs and cats in shelters. The Network is comprised of animal welfare groups who are registered 501(c)(3)s or municipal shelters who are committed to saving the lives of homeless pets through active adoption and/or spay/neuter programs.
As a partner, we now have the opportunity to apply for grants, receive assistance to network animals, access to resources and take advantage of corporate sponsorship opportunities.
Becoming a Best Friends Network Partner has been a huge benefit to our organization in a variety of ways! Providing our monthly intake/outtake stats to the Data Matrix has taken us to the next level of efficiency by causing us to streamline our record keeping process. This efficiency has carried over to our general bookkeeping, tracking volunteers, goal setting, and developing new policies and procedures for our various programs. Another great benefit has been establishing connections with two shelters on the mainland where we can transfer our Kauai kitties through our Wings For Whiskers program. We have also applied for our first Best Friends grant award and we found the grant writing process to be a great learning experience that will help us when applying for other grants in the future. Our Best Friends Network Partner representative has been there every step of the way with guidance and support. Our experience as a Network Partner has been truly wonderful and we look forward to many years of partnership ahead.
